• The Sandveld Group is made up of the Elandsfontyn, Varswater, Springfontyn, Milnerton, Velddrif, Langebaan and Witzand formations (CGS, 1992) and comprises mainly aeolian sand, but minor fluvial to marine deposits also occur (CGS, 1992).
